The ‘why’ behind Climate Connect Sydney

Australia’s private family offices and institutional investment leaders have made ambitious public climate commitments, whether in respect of:

  • Philanthropic and investment capital to deploy into climate;

  • Goals to decarbonise underlying assets within investment portfolios; and

  • Dollar or percentage figure commitments of large funds, into climate solutions.

The above adds up to many tens of billions of dollars earmarked to invest in climate technologies, innovations, funds, and companies.

The demand is there.

Whilst Australia boasts an emerging ecosystem of relevant investable opportunities, a number of the world’s leading actors in climate are based many thousands of kilometres away, having never yet, or only fleetingly. visited our wonderful shores.
